Tweet Your Way to Zoobilation 2014

14_zoobilationlogo_finalFor the last five years at IndyHub we’ve had this crazy opportunity to put together a Twitter Team to hook four of you up with Indiana’s biggest black-tie fundraiser, Zoobilation. And this year we’re doing it again–with a little twist.

In the past we’ve run a contest to identify a Twitter Team to help us promote and cover all the parts and pieces of Zoobilation. This year we’re looking for one person (four total) to cover each of the following: fashion, food, entertainment and animal conservation.

IndyHub’s Twitter Team works with the Indianapolis Zoo to build social capital before, during and immediately following Zoobilation. The trade is that you get a free pass to a severely awesome evening hanging with the Orangutans; the chance to impress a friend with your ability to get one additional discounted ticket to the event that’s been sold out since the polar vortex was in town; and well, we’ll just say there are a few other perks that you’ll have to wait to find out about.

Sound goods, right? Good. Here’s how you get on the team:

First thing’s first, check that calendar. Are you available June 13 from 5:30 p.m. to midnight? Rest up – it’s critical. We’re narrowing in on a couple more dates of importance and will share them ASAP upon selection. Yes, we’ll write your boss a note.

You’ll need an active Twitter account. That makes sense, doesn’t it? The whole operation requires the use of Twitter, so you’ll need a Twitter account to participate. We’re not looking for a specific follower count or Klout score, but it is important that you have a positive impactful reach.

Follow @indyhub and use #indyzoob on all tweets you’d like to be considered during the contest running from May 5-8. On Monday we’ll be looking for our fashionista; Tuesday, our foodie; Wednesday, our entertainment enthusiast; and Thursday, our animal and conservation lover. Of course, you’re welcome to try your hand at all four, but we get it: you’ve got a life and a job offline too. So know that four days of never ending hashtags is more likely to annoy your friends and followers than it is to land you a spot on the team.

Have a positive and catchy tweet-style. You’ll be representing the Indy Zoo and IndyHub as a part of our Twitter Team, which means we need to be able to trust your Twitter tone. We’re definitely looking for people who will be the best at sharing the excitement of the event and who will be respectful of the animals, the Zoo and the many people who make Zoobilation possible.

And that about sums it up. Our super secret team will identify the right folks for the right spots. And we sure hope you’re one of them. Play nice!
