Getting connected. Getting involved. Energizing the City. In a nutshell, that's what we're about.
Are we "young professionals"? Maybe. That term is useful sometimes, but we're probably defined less by our age and our vocation and more by our shared interests and the stuff we do. We go out with friends. We work hard. We pay back school loans. We have opinions. We grew up in Indy. Or we moved here. We socialize on-line. We order take out more often than not. We sometimes prefer a text message to a phone call. We exercise to playlists that we create. We're fans. We're diverse. We like our City.
So, the Indy Hub started when a group of us got together with the goal of supporting this type of crowd. The plan is pretty simple. Get these people plugged-in and get 'em involved. Promote the cool things that Indy already has and come up with some new stuff along the way.
To that end, we've established relationships with just about every group in Indy that targets the up 'n comers of the City. Arts groups, business and networking groups, political groups, volunteer organizations, social groups and others. These groups are doing a lot of cool things, and we want to help spread the word.
In the coming months we'll be adding some of our own ideas to the mix. We'll host more and more gatherings around the City. We'll make indyhub.org an entertaining and useful resource. And we'll be figuring out other ways to make Indy recognizable for its hip-factor (as well as is its low cost of living and sports scene).
The interest and response generated by the Indy Hub has been tremendous. We've quickly grown into a very significant group of bright, diverse, fun and interesting people. If you're not already hooked in, we hope that you do so soon and bring your own ideas and energy to the Indy Hub.
