IndyHub releases iPhone Application
Local nonprofit releases free app to promote upcoming events for young professionals
INDIANAPOLIS -- IndyHub, an organization for Indianapolis young professionals, has launched a free iPhone application. The IndyHub iPhone app enables iPhone and iPod Touch users to find and RSVP to upcoming events.
IndyHub organizes two to three events each month, ranging from social to professional development and civic to philanthropic. Examples of upcoming events include: a casual Happy Hour; a partnership with MOKB Presents and several others for “To Haiti with Love,” a benefit night of live music and experiential art; and “Breakfast With Champions,” organized with the Lacy Leadership Association and the Indiana Sports Corporation to discuss the series of sporting events happening in Indianapolis in 2010-2012. In addition, IndyHub promotes dozens of other events of interest to the under-40 crowd through its Web site, e-newsletter and social media networks. Information about all of these events and several more is available on the app.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our iPhone app,” said Molly Chavers, IndyHub executive director. “We think it is a cool way of connecting with young professionals and providing convenient access to fun and engaging events in Indianapolis.”
The IndyHub iPhone app can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store. Specific features of the IndyHub iPhone app include:
• Finding the dates, times and descriptions for upcoming events
• Submitting RSVPs directly from your iPhone with the push of a button
• Locating event venues using your iPhone's mapping features
“We want to say a special thanks to our app developer, August Trometer,” said Trevor Belden, chairman of the board for IndyHub. “August is extremely busy with a new venture and his Yowza!! iPhone app, but he graciously agreed to create this unique app for IndyHub. We are not aware of any other young professionals group with an iPhone app and we could not have done it without August’s help.”
